Artist Statement

I am a Long Island artist who likes to work both outdoors, painting “en plein air” as well as in my studio. When working with oils, I paint the people and landscape of Long Island in a loose, realistic manner on either canvas or wood panels. However, in addition to my work as a plein air painter, I also like to create artwork using modern tools. By working with my cell phone camera, digital printer, spray gunned half tone dot patterns, homemade “copper pipe pens” and mixing them with traditional painting techniques, I am trying to make work that is both beautiful and visually in sync with our times.
